چکیده

We report detailed measurements of the interlayer magnetoresistance of the layered organic superconductor k –(BEDT-TTF)2Cu(SCN)2 for temperatures down to 0.5 K and fields up to 30 T. The upper critical field is determined from the resistive transition for a wide range of temperatures and field directions. For magnetic fields parallel to the layers, the upper critical field increases approximately linearly with decreasing temperature. The upper critical field at low temperatures is compared to the Pauli paramagnetic limit, at which singlet superconductivity should be destroyed by the Zeeman splitting of the electron spins. The measured value is comparable to a value for the paramagnetic limit calculated from thermodynamic quantities but exceeds the limit calculated from BCS theory. The angular dependence of the upper critical field shows a cusplike feature for fields close to the layers, consistent with decoupled layers.

Superconducting fluctuations and the reduced dimensionality of the organic superconductor k-„BEDT-TTF...2Cu„NCS...2 as observed through measurements of the de Haas–van Alphen effect

We report measurements of the de Haas–van Alphen ~DHVA! effect and ac susceptibility in the layered organic superconductor k-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu(NCS)2.The amplitude of the DHVA oscillations is attenuated over a wide field range above the irreversibility line, B irr(B), below which a rigid flux lattice is formed. Thus the DHVA effect provides a unique probe of the superconducting fluctuations at high ...

Calorimetric evidence for a Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov superconducting state in the layered organic superconductor kappa-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu(NCS)2.

The specific heat of the layered organic superconductor kappa-(BEDT-TTF)(2)Cu(NCS)(2), where BEDT-TTF is bisethylenedithio-tetrathiafulvalene, has been studied in magnetic fields up to 28 T applied perpendicular and parallel to the superconducting layers. In parallel fields above 21 T, the superconducting transition becomes first order, which signals that the Pauli-limiting field is reached. In...

Interlayer magnetoresistance in the organic superconductor k-„BEDT-TTF...2Cu†N„CN...2‡Br near the superconducting transition

In this paper, we report transport measurements of interlayer magnetoresistance with field parallel and perpendicular to the current direction in the organic superconductor k-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu@N(CN)2#Br. For HiJ , the isothermal magnetoresistance R(H) displays a peak effect as a function of field. While the magnetoresistance at small field can be fitted to stacked Josephson junction model, the nega...

STATIC AND ESR SUSCEPTIBILITIES OF THE AMBIENT PRESSURE SUPERCONDUCTORS p AND at-( BEDT-TTF)213 AND (BEDT-TTF)2Cu( SCN)2

Whereas the static spin-susceptibility x5(T) of b and at-(BEDT-TTF)& at 5.7 tesla increases in a slow monotonic manner with temperature, xS(T) for the organic superconductor (BEDT-TTF)$Zu(SCN)2 displays a markedly structured temperature dependence. This gives evidence for two or more phase transitions in the metallic phase at temperatures near 100 K and 50 K, in addition to the onset of superco...
